Our Pastor - Youth and Outreach Ministries

Dexter Hinkson

Pastor Dexter Hinkson was born in San Fernando, Trinidad. When he was 5 years of age his parents immigrated to Barrie Ontario, where he spent most of his adolescent to early twenties.

After high school, he attended Eastern Pentecostal Bible College, while doing local youth outreach in the downtown core of Peterborough. 

 . 

As time went on he moved back to Barrie and began volunteering at local churches to assist in their youth ministries.  During those formative years he developed his gifts in preaching, teaching, worship, evangelism and mentorship.

Dexter’s passion is in building up the youth of this generation to be godly men and women and equipping them to have a heart for missions locally and overseas.

• Bachelor of Religious Education, Eastern Pentecostal Bible College, Peterborough. 

• Currently finishing a Masters of Divinity at Wycliffe College (University of Toronto)

• Youth Pastor, St. John's Chinese Anglican Church, Scarborough  (3 yrs)

• Youth Pastor, Christ Church, Brampton (6 yrs)

• In 2008 Dexter accepted the calling and position to serve at Markham Baptist Church.

Dexter has served on several short term missions:

1997    in Jamaica                                          2004    in Grahamstown, South Africa

1998    in Manitouwadge, Ontario                     2005     in Moncton, New Brunswick

In his free time, Dexter loves to play various musical instruments, soccer, tennis, baseball, volleyball, read and stretch nature.
