I am married to a wonderful woman named Janet. We have been married for 21 years and have three children - two boys (17 and 14 years old) and one girl (12 years old).

 My parents have had a huge influence on me. I have always appreciated the way they sought to live for Christ and make their commitment to Him real in the world. It is because of the example of their lives that I said, “I want Jesus Christ as my Saviour".

Michael Cassidy of African Enterprise has influenced my views of Christian mission. Jesus Christ has called the church to be in the world influencing it for Him through word and deed.

Stephen Olford and Haddon Robinson have influenced my preaching. Doctor Olford’s passion for the Word and everything holy has been an inspiration. Dr. Robinson’s desire to communicate the gospel to our generation in ways that are attractive and engaging has been a guiding light to me.

I will never forget hearing a story at an Urbana conference - too long to relate but the punch line is “Preach Christ, Preach Christ”. Ever since that conference I have sought to make that the guiding principle in my life – to preach Christ in my actions, and in my preaching, to proclaim only Christ.
